About the Event & Foundation
This one-of-a-kind event generates over 90% of the yearly revenue for the Billy Hurley III Foundation. The Billy Hurley III Foundation was established to support, honor and benefit a vital group of unsung heroes: military families. The sacrifice and selflessness of our nation’s military personnel are mirrored in their spouses, children and loved ones. We pay tribute to their strength and courage as they, in essence, serve alongside our service members.
The tournament offers a tremendous opportunity for sponsors to play and interact with PGA TOUR champion Billy Hurley III, the only U.S. Naval Academy graduate and veteran currently on the TOUR while supporting Billy’s Foundation and honoring our nation’s military.
Billy served 5 years active duty as a Surface Warfare Officer, which included time on a destroyer in the Persian Gulf protecting Iraqi oil platforms, before returning to civilian life as a full-time TOUR contender.
Hosted at The Naval Academy Golf Course, the tournament also serves as a recognition ceremony for the Billy Hurley III Foundation’s Golfer of the Year Award recipients. Golfer of the Year Award recipients are treated to an all expenses paid trip to play in the Billy Hurley III and the Brave tournament.
